The Story

The Domaine Marc Morey et fils is first the history of a family, indeed this exploitation exists since 1919, when Fernand Morey decides to install his operation in an old restaurant relay diligence.

He was joined by his son Marc in 1944, joined in 1977 by his daughter Marie-Josèphe and son-in-law Bernard Mollard.

Today it is in the company of their daughter Sabine that they run this field.

The work of the vines

Rigor and respect for the land are the mottoes of the domain.

The vines are carved in simple Guyot or Cordon de Royat, the budding is severe for optimum yield, the work in green is rigorous, the stripping of the plots of Red is systematic. The soil is worked throughout the year. The field is part of a reasoned approach, the treatments are positioned at the best times and only if they are absolutely necessary.

Winemaking and ageing know-how.

Winemaking are flexible, adapted to each vintage, the ageing on Lees lasts 10 months for white wines, followed by 4 months in vats and 15 months for red wines with 25 to 30% new barrels to allow a better expression of the terroirs. The filtration is mild and depend on the clarity of the wines.

The wines of the estate play the map of finesse, freshness and minerality more than opulence.
